Propolis is like bee resin used to seal off sections of the hive to help keep the hive sanitary.  Today it is used in gum, cosmetics, creams and several other applications.   More studies are needed to be sure of it's health benefits.  Can cause allergic reaction in people with bee and other allergies.  Use with caution.  Consult your doctor before providing to children under the age of 18.
